"When we drove up, I just fell in love with this place. I love the trail by the lake because I walk about two miles a day - it's wonderful to have such a safe place to exercise. My other passion is gardening. When I'm digging in the dirt, I'm in my glory! I want to retain my independence as long as I can. But I feel secure in knowing that if I need help, there's someone right here to help me."

"When Evelyn began losing her vision we wondered what would happen if we had to give up driving," says Torsti. "Then, when I began to have health problems, that's when we decided to move to our own cottage at Asbury Place. We still have our independence but the security of knowing there is a retirement home and health center right here on campus." "We love our home," says Evelyn. "The quiet neighborhood, congenial neighbors, group activities, and beautiful surroundings suit us perfectly."

"He has been so good to me for letting me live here with all of my friends. Some of my friends that don’t live here don’t know what they are missing.
